Flash
Light reveals.
Material tells a story.
A lamp that makes the layers of 3D printing part of its character.

01 / THE IDEA
The mark of the process.
The character of the object.
Every print leaves a trace. Flash gives it value: layer lines, often seen as flaws to hide, become the lamp’s visual signature.

THE SURFACE IS THE DESIGN
Up close,
every line matters.
A profile of concentric waves, extruded vertically. The shape brings out the traces of printing, while light reveals their rhythm.
02 / LIGHT AND MATERIAL
Light meets
the surface.
The light diffuser meets the dark base. Two continuous parts, joined by the same wavy surface.
Light reveals the vertical waves and horizontal layers.
03 / FROM IDEA TO OBJECT
A form shaped
by making.
SCROLL TO FOLLOW THE PROCESS

Embracing the limitation
3D printing leaves visible marks on curved surfaces. The project starts here: using the limitation as a starting point, rather than removing it.
Designing the rhythm
The research explores increasingly wavy profiles, leading to a sequence of concentric waves extruded vertically.
Giving light a form
From sketches to the assembly kit: diffuser, base and components come together in a prototype that openly shows how it is made.
A matter
of detail.
Traces of production
become a surface to explore.

04 / BEYOND THE WORKSHOP
Design.
Art.
Connection.
Flash was presented through a collaboration with the Volander cultural association: an experience bringing together art, design and craftsmanship.
My contribution: an object that tells the story of its own process, unfiltered.
